ORTA’s new collection embodies the company’s view of an OPEN TICKET of new denim possibilities that are in parallel with the major transformations facing global society today: climate action for real-world recovery, and the metaverse for new world realities.

According to Dr. Sedef Uncu Aki, who leads ORTA’s Denim Sales & Marketing, PD, R&D, Planning and Operations, “global society today is at the cusp of two major transformations, each driven by new technology and the collective interests and passions of people. ORTA has been at the forefront of innovating our use of resources through our ORTA BLU Handprint mission since 2010 to lead with the most sustainable, zero-waste and regenerative practices to contribute to net-positive sustainability. We have also been building our capabilities and ways to contribute to the mixed reality future that will be both sustainable and more social, also contributing to the health and wellbeing of people and the planet.”

ORTA’s OPEN TICKET collection introduces industry-leading innovation in one of the biggest denim categories—stretch. Recognizing that the use of elastane in stretch contributes to the microplastics threat in our water systems and atmosphere, the tech team at ORTA Labs created the Magical Comfort Stretch, patent-pending denim that has zero elastane or PET yet achieves amazing flexibility recovery and comfort. Called “Torque” for its fast rate of change for angular momentum, it is an eco-generative mono material that has no artificial fibers, microplastics, elastane or PET—a leading innovation that pushes new boundaries of alternatives that solve the synthetic fiber usage problem in stretch. Magical Comfort Stretch, TORQUE, is just one of the many innovations ORTA is leading towards a biodegradable future.

The OPEN TICKET collection continues another ORTA industry-first VR denim journey that is an interactive selling tool and zenful experience that is a more carbon-friendly way to engage personally with customers. Exploring unlimited possibilities and inspiring the legends of tomorrow, ORTA expands its VR denim journey with references to some of the acclaimed and iconic science fiction writers of our time: Huxley, Herbert, Shelley and Wells. Brought to life in an industry-transforming single fabric called “Platform” that takes the guessing game out of fabric sourcing with unlimited creative freedom. PLATFORM speaks to today’s gender-neutral style of “lifewear” built for diversity and to protect the future.

ORTA raises the standards of organic and pre-and-post recycled denim fabrics with “Joyride”, new zen-sphere of lightweight performance denim that meets Ellen MacArthur Jeans Redesign’s strength criteria of good tensile strength after 30 home laundering. The lightweight utilitarian fabrics meet several sustainability standards such as the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certified to contain 40% recycled content; meet the Organic Content Standard [OCS]; are compostable with 100% cellulosic based fibers suitable for mechanical recycling at the end of their lives; dyed with ORTA’S Indigo Flow sustainable dyeing process in which up to 70% water saving is achieved; and around 80% reduction on all 5 environmental impacts validated by LCA analysis.
